Training Tankermen To Be the Best in the Industry

In an effort to increase the number of qualified, well-trained tankermen to meet the needs of our customers, SGS Petroleum Service Corporation has launched a new tankerman training program – the Tankerman Career Academy (TCA). The mission of the TCA is to train people to be the best tankermen in the industry through a program which includes both classroom and one-on-one field instruction.

This new program offers a wealth of opportunities and rewards for hard-working dedicated people interested in a new career.

TCA sessions are being offered at the Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Pasadena, Texas offices. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates receive a Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) issued by the United States Coast Guard.

TCA Admission Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Able to read, write and speak clearly.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with no felony convictions.
• No DUIs/DWIs in the past three years.
• Must pass a drug screen and physical.
• The Tankerman Career Academy is a tuition-based training program. Applicants must have a letter of pre-approval from a financial institution for a loan covering the tuition fee, or verification of available funds.
