Outline

  • Brief background on Forest Certification and how Chain of Custody (CoC) certification is used to track products from certified forests through the supply chain.

  • Presentation of the various CoC systems in existence.

  • Overview of the basic requirements for a company to implement CoC control of its supply chain, and the various control systems in use.

  • Introduction to the certification process;
    achieving and maintaining compliance with CoC standards.

  • Knowledge of the role of recycled/reclaimed fibre, and wood products from “controlled” sources; different categories of certified material.

Objectives

  • Learn the basis of what Chain of Custody certification is, and its relation to sustainable forest management.

  • Understand the marketing benefits of obtaining CoC Certification, or preferring CoC-certified products, may offer to your organization.

  • Gain insight into how CoC certification audits are conducted, and what may be required to prepare your organization to undergo the certification process.
